In brief
Polypropylsilsesquioxane is a synthetic silicone resin, a polymer built from silicon and oxygen units carrying propyl groups. It is used in cosmetics as a film former: when applied to skin, hair or nails, it leaves a thin, continuous coating, which is why it appears in products such as foundations, eyeliners and long-wear lip products.
