- Isostearyl benzylimidonium chloride is a positively charged compound of the quaternary ammonium type, made from a branched fatty chain derived from isostearic acid and a benzyl group. In cosmetic products it reduces static electricity, especially on hair. It also helps hold the other ingredients together.
