Flexible Collodion is a solution of pyroxylin (a nitrocellulose derivative) combined with castor oil, dissolved in a mixture of alcohol and ether. When applied, the liquid evaporates and leaves behind a thin, flexible film on the skin's surface, which is why it's used as a film-forming ingredient in cosmetic formulations.
